March 2025

Hello, Neighbors Network Friends

We are immensely grateful for the support we received during our annual fundraiser. We raised more this time than in any previous year. Neighbors Network operates on a shoestring budget. These funds will help provide more activities for Members. They will allow us to reach potential members who could benefit from the value Neighbors Network brings to the lives of its Members. They also will fund scholarships for Members who cannot afford the $375 annual fee. We are tremendously grateful to those of you who donated. We were pleasantly surprised, as in past years, to receive donations from people new to Neighbors Network. And from some of our Volunteers and Members, which is an affirmation of the value of what Neighbors Network provides that we truly take to heart. Every dollar we receive helps more than you might expect. Thank you.

What’s New

A group of Members and Volunteers visited the Morse Museum to see some of its incredible collection of the creations of Louis Comfort Tiffany. NN arranged a private tour with a docent who led our group of 12 through the art, pottery, and extraordinary collection of Tiffany glass lamps and windows. We learned about the women who worked in the studios in NY in the early 1900s creating these amazing beauties. What a treat to see such wondrous creations.

Lunch Out
Our February monthly lunch get together was held at P.F. Chang’s. We were greeted by the manager who made us feel welcomed and encouraged us to come back. We had a separate room where we could enjoy our lunch and chat with each other.

At Home
One of our Members wanted to buy a new couch. When he found one online, he was concerned about “some assembly required.” He contacted us and explained his worry. We reached out to our Volunteers. One had recently assembled the same exact couch for a friend. We advised the Member who then bought the couch. After it was delivered, the Volunteer spent less than an hour putting it together. This is what happens at Neighbors Network. Together, we can make things happen more easily.

Spotlight on Donors

Emily and Marty Glickstein have been volunteering with us since 2017. “Volunteering is important to both of us. We love the Members and enjoy getting to know them,” Emily said. “We’re part of the same demographic. We like helping people stay living in their own home and hope we can do the same. We see the benefit of Neighbors Network each time we drive someone to an appointment or social activity. Some Members have told us they’ve made new friends and don’t feel so alone,” she said.

“We feel fortunate that we can give not only our time but our dollars to help Neighbors Network accomplish its mission a little more easily,” Marty says. “Neighbors Network makes sense. We think about what we want for our future… and it makes us glad we can do this because there is a Neighbors Network. At some point we may want to take advantage of it ourselves.”

Thank you, Emily and Marty, for your generosity and all you do for our Members!
