Hello, Neighbors Network Friends
Happy New Year!
The new year means a lot of things. For some, it is a new start. For others, it’s a chance to review the last year and choose course correction or maintaining the current one. To others, it’s just the turn of a calendar page.
At NN, we are cognizant of how the vision we hold for the year ahead affects so many people. To that end, in 2025, we are focusing on impact… the impact in the lives of our members, volunteers, donors, and the greater community. This year, we will delve more deeply into what our members want, need, and enjoy. We will examine what we can better do to support our volunteers. We are expanding our outreach through education and connecting with more donors who hold the same vision for our community.
We have great dreams and plans for the year ahead and are honored to serve in our community. Thank you for joining us in any way that fits you.
What’s New
Get Together
It was a full house on January 4 at our semi-annual get together for members and volunteers.

We met in a warm, sunny room in a volunteer’s home where new friendships were made and old connections strengthened. It is an amazing feeling to be gathered with people who genuinely care and are committed to helping others in our community. The conversations were varied, light and friendly and everyone had a great time.
Annual Fundraiser
Each year, we hold an annual fundraiser. We hold this drive for two reasons. 1. We need money to do more for our members and 2. To extend scholarships to those who cannot afford membership. For our members, we want to provide more enjoyable ways to get out of the house and do something fun and new like going to the theater, game days, and boat tours, to name a few. We also would like to extend scholarships to those in our community who would greatly benefit from a NN membership but who simply cannot afford it. We would love for you to help us spread the word.
Upcoming
We have a special treat planned for our Members. The Morse Museum is a treasure chest in our midst filled with the world’s most comprehensive collection of Louis Comfort Tiffany art. On January 30, we will see the large, gorgeous stained glass windows, ceramics, furniture, jewelry, and the amazing Tiffany Chapel created for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Thanks to a generous anonymous donation, NN Members will tour free with a docent describing all the treasures we see.
Volunteers: You are welcome, too. Hope you can join us at 1:30 pm on 1/30.
Spotlight on Members

Nancy tells everyone she knows (and even people she doesn’t know) about Neighbors Network because she thinks it’s a fantastic organization. A member since 2019, she’s thrilled to have this network of volunteers a phone call away. Volunteers helped her downsize her home and settle into a condo she loves. She boasts that NN “thinks of what older people like me need and would benefit from before we think of it.” She loves that papers she wants professionally shredded are picked up by a volunteer a few times a year (NN covers the cost).
Nancy enjoys the Share a Title Book Club (no specific required reading… participants discuss a book they’ve enjoyed, which suits her fine because she is an avid reader). She has made friends and feels connected to people who care about her. “I’m Neighbors Network’s greatest fan,” she likes to say. (We have another Member who might get a laugh out of this as she always says SHE is NN’s greatest fan!) Membership has made her feel welcomed, cared for and energized. Not surprisingly, that’s how she makes everyone else feel, too. We’re so glad to have Nancy as a Member.
Thank You
