Virtual Book Club

We’ve been to the rural back hills of Kentucky with the Pack Horse Librarians in the 1930s, discussed memoirs, food, and traveled around the world in our Virtual Book Club discussions on Zoom. It was fun hearing about a massage-seeking adventure in Thailand, the classic “Travels with Charlie,” what life is really like when you’re a “Sous Chef: 24 hours on the line,” and much more! In this pic, as the group was gathering a friendly cat decided to join us.

Picnic Lunch at Lake Lily

Back in early Spring 2020, everyone enjoyed the lunch they brought to Lake Lily and the delicious brownies Annette made. This was the last group gathering before we decided it was best not to meet in person until Cornavirus calmed down.

Bake & Take

Sheryl was one of a number of volunteers who baked and delivered treats to members — a big hit!

What an unexpected treat for members! Volunteers baked their favorite treats and delivered them to the front door of every Neighbors Network member. One volunteer said he’d never baked before in his life and wanted to give it a try. The member said his cookies were delicious! A creative volunteer who loves to bake asked another volunteer who prefers to drive to do her deliveries. Win-Win-Win!

NN’s Book Mobile

Here’s another way NN is connecting with members during the Coronavirus stay-at-home. Every week for months, our Book Mobile travels to members’ homes (if they schedule it) and parks on their driveway so they can select from boxes of sanitized books lent by members, volunteers and others. It’s quite a collection! Members love the connection and conversation.
