For Current Volunteers

Neighbors Network Loves our Volunteers!

Our Volunteers are the Heart of Neighbors Network.  Volunteer Orientations are held every 3 or 4 months. All Volunteers are asked to attend an Orientation session to learn about their role and responsibilities in Neighbors Network. It’s also a great chance to meet other Volunteers and learn from their experience. All Volunteers are asked to become familiar with the Volunteer Handbook. Click here to download a copy of the Vols Handbook2 July2014. You can also download a copy of Volunteers FAQ’s July 2014(FAQ’s).

Once a year, Neighbors Network honors its Volunteers to show our appreciation for your vital contributions. On February 27, 2014 Neighbors Network recognized our Volunteers for their devoted service in our first six months of operation. Over 70 hours of direct service to seniors were provided by our Volunteers!

Tracking Volunteer Activities and Hours

Neighbors Network tracks the contributions made by our Volunteers, so that we are able to recognize their contribution and so that we can report our total Volunteer Hours to funding organizations and others. We ask our Volunteers to submit a Volunteer Activity Report each time they spend time helping Neighbors Network or one of our Members. Volunteers can download the Volunteer Activity Report and follow the instructions.

On rare occasions a Volunteer may need to purchase an item on behalf of a Neighbors Network member. If this occurs, we ask the Volunteer to please contact the Volunteers & Services Manager before purchasing an item. If authorized to purchase the item, the Volunteer can request reimbursement for items valued at under $10. To request a refund use the NN Expense Reimb Request Form and mail it to Neighbors Network.

Communicating with NN Volunteers

Periodically, Neighbors Network produces a Volunteer Newsletter to keep you informed of what’s happening in Neighbors Network and ask for your ideas and feedback. To view a Volunteer Newsletter, click on the issue below.
